New YORK (Reuters) - Amazon.com said on Wednesday that it had reached an agreement with AT & T to sell a cheaper version of its digital reader Kindle 3G.
The Kindle 3G, which allows users to buy e-books without having to subscribe to a wireless network, costs 189 dollars.
The device sponsored by AT & T, which will also include ads in your screen saver, will cost $139.
Amazon introduced its devices in April advertising from companies such as Buick, owned by General Motors; Olay, of Procter & Gamble and Visa, in a different version of the Kindle, which competes with devices like the Nook from Barnes & Noble and Apple's iPad tablet.
